Details

The images for this violin have strayed into the ‘red’ spectrum (cameras sometimes do this!). The actual colour is a cooler brown, with hints of green over a brown-gold ground. A two piece back with matching ribs and head and one piece top plate complete the materials list. The varnish having a shaded faux-antique pattern typical of the Leon Mougenot workshop.

It has a rich, deep and colourful sound with abundant overtones response. It offers powerful projection with even balance across the strings.

Sweet pianissimo! Very sensitive and responsive to the bow, an ideal violin for smooth and seamlessly woven legato. Eminently playable.
