Details

This typically neat violin is based on the ‘Betts’ Stradivari of 1704, it has a two piece back with the medium, regular flame ascending from the centre joint; the two piece top of medium, regularly spaced reed lines and reddish-brown varnish over a light gold ground, applied in a complex faux antique pattern.

The violin has a bright, rich, full bodied resonance with lots of harmonic response; it’s even across the strings and throughout the range; it offers an excellent response for double stoppings and great bow response for dynamics nuances and contrasts.

Altogether a beautifully crafted violin from one of Australia’s leading makers.
