Joseph Falaise

1790, French

A striking violin after Stradivari with a dark brown varnish over a yellow-gold ground.

Falaise worked in Paris and Mirecourt, producing this instrument probably around 1790. It was sold by Hills in London and brought to Australia we believe in the first half of the 20th century.

Superb condition and sound to match.
