Falaise worked in Paris and Mirecourt.
From the late 1700s, this Parisian violin is a striking instrument and is a fine example of his Stradivari model. The varnish is typically dark with a golden ground, the fingerboard still bears the stock number of W E Hill & Sons of London, who sold the instrument in the middle of last century.
It is in superb condition with a sound to match.
