Malcolm Collins hails from Upper Hutt, just north of Wellington in New Zealand.

Originally trained as a boat builder, Malcolm, a violist, turned his hand to instrument making and with his typically intelligent, observant approach, has been producing first class orchestral instruments for over 30 years.
