Lothar Hermann

Germany

Lothar Hermann was taught bow making by his father and grandfather; a family tradition that can be traced back to the early 18th century. He also received formal training at the trade school in Markneukirchen during the years 1928 to 1932.

He worked at his fathers workshop up until 1960 although, after successfully completing his Masters examination in 1949, he began stamping his bows with his own name. In 1961 he opened his own workshop in Markneukirchen and continued working there into his old age.

This octagonal pernambuco stick has a silver mounted ebony frog and weighs in at 77 gm.
